This is when white leaders assign a Black middle man (or woman) to exact the punishment or harm to the Black educator who has been labeled “insubordinate” using manufactured evidence, impossible competing tasks, in an effort to push them out of the system. This provides white leaders an extra layer of protection along with “plausible deniability” allowing them to say, “their supervisor was Black, therefore it can’t be racist.” Below, we will examine reasons why this argument is a fallacy.
